Sandra Acebes Serrano

I'm a Computational Chemist passionated about programming, Big Data analysis, and Machine Learning techniques.

Computational Chemistry is a field based on simulating chemical phenomena, for example, to design drugs or enzymes. Therefore, we don't work typically in a wet lab, but we use computers and clusters as main tools, instead. I performed my Ph.D. at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center, which hosts the Marenostrum, one of the coolest supercomputers in the world. It was selected as the most beautiful supercomputer in 2018, and is one the most powerful and greener supercomputers in Europe.

After completing my Ph.D. I was working as a teaching assistant and associate researcher in the Mechanical Engineering department at Yale. Yale University is part of the Ivy League, which comprises the best universities in the US.

These years as a researcher I worked mainly with data (sometimes a huge amount of that!) and I learned how to organize, clean and analyze it in order to get significant results. Nowadays I'm looking forward to applying this knowledge to cutting-edge problems oriented towards business intelligence (BI), and I decided to start this web to join some material from different software oriented towards BI.
